What does it mean to 'carve your own path'?

Resistance is as much about just choosing to do things your own way.  Defiance of expectation is still defiance.

Expectation is a powerful thing.  It's loaded with guilt - who are you going to let down if you don't do things a certain way?  And the expectations of society are even heavier to bear - not belonging, not fitting in, this is what we face if we don't do things the way they've always been done.  'If you go against the grain you'll be rejected' is the fundamental message we're raised on.

Carving your own path doesn't need to be a radical act.  It can just be down to choice.  You can choose to take a different route.  We're all trying to reach the same destination, right?  Contentment, free from stress, being with the ones we love and who love us.  Last time I looked there's no manual telling us how to get there.  What if your way turns out to be THE way?

Are you going to live your life on someone else's terms, or are you going to define your own?

You don't have to be a warrior to be an activist
