Get out of your way
What I want, more than anything in the world, is for you to be happy. When you're doing things that make you happy, your resources get replenished, and you have so much more to give. If you're not doing things that bring you joy, I'd make a bet now that the only thing that's standing in your way is you.
It's you that's choosing to live life the way you do. You've decided that this set of rules or those boundaries will define the path that you'll stay on. You are the only one who is setting the limits, putting the brakes on, making this or that dream stay as just that - a dream. You are the one who can change the course of your life.
If you want something to happen, you've got to let it. You've got to step aside and allow the part of you that wants to fly to just get out there and have a go. Yes there are risks - there are always risks. Cultivate your instinct for sensing the fine line between considered adventure and reckless abandon, and practice your capacity to take the leap when all you've got to go on is a feeling that the time's right.
'Self-limiting beliefs' - you must have heard the term. They are exactly that - 'self-limiting' - you stopping yourself moving forward, and 'beliefs' - not facts. Time to recognise that those beliefs are parts of you, those voices that have kept you safe, stopped you doing stupid things are your own in your ears. Time to ask them to kindly pipe down. If you're not living the life you want, the only person who needs persuading that a different way might be more favourable is yourself.
Have a word.
